Our Curriculum
The Counting for Christ Ministries Charter of Shalom Bible College & Seminary uses the curriculum of the main school in Des Moines, Iowa. The curriculum has been successfully used by the main school for over 45 years. Our charter is under the accreditation of the main school and we are in good standing with them.
Whether the classes are completed in person or by correspondence they are an intense in-depth study of the scriptures. Each focus of study includes material to equip the students with the Biblical knowledge needed for their chosen degree.

Jesus Teacher Character, the study of Peter’s transformation from a fisherman to a church leader
Old & New Testament Synopsis
God’s Holy Word
Capture the Sermon, listening to and reporting on a series of 10 sermons
Textural Analysis, reading and reporting on a book of faith

A student starting with Shalom or transferring from another school is able to complete an Associates, Bachelor, Masters, Doctorate or PhD with our charter.

Our Statement Regarding Accreditation
We are Shalom Bible College & Seminary in West Des Moines, Iowa. We are located at the address listed on our letterhead. Our students are sometimes told that we are not Accredited. We would like to respectfully speak to the question regarding our Accreditation.
We are Accredited with the American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions. This is strictly a Divinity Accreditation, and we are a “Divinity School.” The Bible is our only major. We do offer Nouthetic Counseling, which is Christian Counseling – this is not Psychology.
We have had students accepted as Jail Chaplains. Credits have been accepted in favor of a High School teacher, and in the past, we have had Chaplains in the Military accepted, as well. Some graduates are working as Hospital Chaplains – and others are teaching as Missionaries in the nations due to the Degrees they earned through Shalom Bible College. Many of our Shalom graduates are serving in the Ministry today or serving as leading Laymen in their Church or as a Christian Ed. Director, etc. We also have graduates who are serving as Chaplains through a Certified National Organization.
All degrees granted from Shalom Bible College & Seminary will be a Divinity Degree of some type and will house a required amount of Biblical subjects so that the individual earning such a degree can pursue the Ministry, the Chaplaincy, or Christian Education. We are Interdenominational and Full Gospel, meaning we believe in the fullness of the Word of God. Our studies encompass the Bible and Christian Counseling. The Educational background of our professors and teachers are varied, but are basically Open Bible Standard, United Methodist, Assembly of God, Presbyterian, Salvation Army, etc. We embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ along with a love for Israel! Shalom Ministry and Bible College has Chartered Schools in foreign nations along with Chartered Schools in the United States.
We assure you, that our students, when graduated, have had Biblical subjects that are worth the credit they have earned. To the inquiring individual(s), regarding our Accreditation, studying at Shalom means you are interested in equipping yourself to prove to God you want to be available as a workman, in His Kingdom. It is His Command that we “Study to show ourselves approved” unto Him!
Biblical Education at Shalom Bible College & Seminary serves many purposes: To the Church, To the Incarcerated, to our Community and to the Nations.
Calling our Accreditation an “Accreditation Mill” or suggesting that we are not Accredited, is just not correct. There are requirements that we must follow to receive this Accreditation. It is not illegal to say you graduated from Shalom Bible College & Seminary. You may want to clarify that is a Divinity Degree, only. But we are here, and we do follow all the guidelines of our Accreditation.
